History

On 1 May 1924, Jacobus van 't Kruis started his own business in Nieuwveen, trading and transporting hay, straw and peat moss mainly for farmers in the region. After the Second World War, Jac. van 't Kruis en Zonen B.V. shifted its focus to the transport of construction materials and paving stones, later supplemented by the seasonal transport of sugar beet.

After the arrival of the third Van 't Kruis generation, the company started to concentrate on tipper transport of raw materials for animal feed, for example, and later ferro metals. Bulk transport was also introduced through tanker and silo trucks. As a result of these developments, the company started to operate more internationally.
